My research focuses on identifying microbial indicators for the integrated assessment of the ecological status of aquatic ecosystems, particularly in relation to the presence and concentration of emerging contaminants. My work integrates multiple approaches, including chemical analyses, risk assessment, characterization of the taxonomic structure of microbial communities through amplicon sequencing, and statistical tools to build models that predict different environmental impacts.
